Mr V.B Sidoli Club President
(1987 - Present)
Val Sidoli joined the club in 1946 when Bristol Harlequins reformed just after the second world war, and took the name of the original Bristol Harlequins of the 1870's.
Although the club struggled we had some great characters who had been through the war and that held us together!
I was just 20 years old when I joined, but even then the club spirit was always high whenever we played.
At the time all they had was a tin hut with no water. the nearest water was brass tap two fields away, and the only way of getting it back to the hut was by rolling it in a petrol drum.
After the game we would go to a local pub for a laugh and a sing song whether we won or lost.
Now we have our own ground and clubhouse and I hope the same spirit lives there! We have a fine future, and 2001 was our 75th anniversary of the club!
BLUE, BLACK and WHITE FOREVER!
V.B Sidoli
