NEW SEASON AND NEW COACHES

The new season kick-off September 7th HOME against Chard in the EDF Senior Vase and the following week our league campaign starts away against Wells.

This season the Club welcomes back former player Tony Hall and Andy Crocker as the new coaching partnership for the coming season. Lets support the new coaches by attending training Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Next Wednesday 27th August, is an home evening trails game against Whitehall RFC, Kick-off is at 7pm.

Bristol Harlequins v Corsham - TRAILS GAME
Saturday 30th August is our annual trails game against Corsham RFC which this year is at our place and Kick-off will be about 14:30 - 15:00.

Yatton v Bristol Harlequins COMB. CUP
We will be playing Yatton RFC in the Combination Cup on either Tuesday 2nd or Wednesday 3rd September with an evening Kick-off at about 7pm.

Bristol Harlequins v Chard EDF
Saturday 6th September Quins will play Chard RFC in the Senior Vase EDF Cup at Quins. Kick-off at 3pm

Somerset Cup 3rd/4th Play-off
This Saturday 28th April Bristol Harlequins RFC will play Keynsham RFC in the Somerset 3rd/4th Play-off at Bristol Barbarians RFC. The winners will be entered into the EDF National Trophy next season.

AGM and Annual Dinner Evening

The clubs AGM is Friday 20th April, all players/members should try and attend. It gives you the chance to vote on next seasons club officials.

This season Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening is on Friday 11th May. Tickets will soon be available from the captains.

At the moment we do not have a fixture however we are trying to get a B-C Team home fixture and the team will be picked from the players that turn up on saturday.

Saturday 1st XV Fixture

Due to last Saturdays EDF Cup Round 5 fixture was called-off after 15 minutes by the Referee, this Saturday the League game against Thornbury has been postponed. The cup game takes propriety over the league. Therefore the 1st XV will be travelling back to Gordon League this Saturday.

Double Header Weekend

16 January 2007
This weekend Bristol Harlequins have a double Header. Saturday 20th January Quins will travel upto Gordon League for their EDF Senior Vase 4th Round match. Then on Sunday 21st January will travel to Walcot for the Somerset Quater final match.

Pre-Season Training

Pre-season training officially start Tuesday 4th July, and will be every Tuesday and Thursday. However, Tuesday will be the main night.

Although, the club is open on Wednesday evening for touch-rugby, please feel free to turn up.

Trials Match
There will be a trails match 19 August at home against Corsham RFC.

Investec Challenge Matches- November 2006
We have been allocated tickets for England v New Zealand on 5 November 2006, England v South Africa on 18 November 2006 and England v South Africa (again) on 25 November 2006. Tickets prices range from £65.00 to £45.00. We have to submit the ticket application by 30 June 2006 so if anyone is interest they should contact Ian Nunnerley ASAP.

TRAINING INCENTIVE MATCH SUB

31 October 2005
Numbers at training are currently low, and the Club WANTS to go forward and push for South West II rugby along with getting or 2nds back into the top 2nd Merit League. This can only be done through training.

Therefore the club is going to trial for a month a TRAINING INCENTIVE MATCH SUB. If a player trains in the week then they will save £2 on Match Subs.

Please note that this is only a Month trial and will be evaluated and discussed at the next monthly meeting.

TRAINING NIGHT: At the moment until numbers improve at training, training will only be one night a week and that will be THURSDAY NIGHTS.

Road Trip for Stroud Game

The Club is getting a coach this Saturday for the AWAY game at Stroud. All Players are required to be on the Coach, if you can not make it on the Coach please inform Club Captain Matt Bright or Match Secretary Mark Ralph.

There will be room on the coach for supporters, therefore if you would like to come for the trip then please request a seat by email: quins@ralphski.co.uk.

The Coach is leaving the Club at 12:15 and will return after a few stops on the way back!!!

Somerset Cup News!!!

The OFFICIAL date for our 3rd Round Somerset Cup tie against Keynsham RFC will be on Saturday 15th January 2005 at home, kick-off is at 2pm.

Whoever wins on Saturday, will then travel to North Petherton the next day (Sunday 16th January) to play the 4th Round Cup tie.

4th Team Back!!!

Its been about 32 fixture weekends since we last played a 4th team fixture, but this week the 4th team strikes back when they will travel to Imperial to face thier 2nds. Imperial II was also the last fixture the 4th team played last season, lets hope its not the last this season.

If numbers are good next week then the 4th team will face Imperial III at Home for the rematch.

Saturday 27th November, is the next round of the NPI Cup, in which Bristol Harlequins RFC will travel to current South West 2 (West) Leaders Spartans(SW) RFC.

Bristol Harlequins went out in the Semi-Final stage at the Imperial Sevens Tournament. Quins lost to the evental winners Frampton Cottrell 7-0. It was a well played semi-final inwhich both defences were good. Photos from this tournament can be viewed in the photo section of Quins website.

Chris Lilley has taken on the role as Bristol Harlequins Coach. Training sessions will be hold on Wednesday Evenings as from the 6th August. Training will start promptly at 7pm, so be at the club between 6.30-45pm.
