United XV 0 - 30 Bristol Harlequins XV - 06/12/2009

Taunton United travelled to Bristol Harlequins for this top of the table clash and were never in the game losing 30-0. Taunton just couldnt hold onto the ball in the wet conditions and this allowed Harlequins to control the game. The set piece was solid and the line out worked well but in the loose Taunton were turned over too many times. Tauntons defence was tested from the first whistle and it held solid for most of the first half, three penalties were slotted over then it was one missed tackle in midfield and the full back made a mazy run to score out wide. Half time 14-0. Taunton tried to get in the game and there was some great attacking play but the phases never came after to build a platform to work from. Harlequins added three more penalties and a well worked try came late in the game.
